Forage fish are under threat from the boom in global aquaculture and a management system that does not assess the needs of marine fish and wildlife when setting catch levels for forage fish.
The Marine Fish Conservation Network is the nation's largest national coalition of environmental organizations, commercial and recreational fishing associations and marine science organizations dedicated to achieving healthy oceans and sustainable fisheries. The Network is currently urging the federal government to address these threats by requiring fishery managers to more conservatively manage forage fish in U.S. waters.
